# LoyalXP: Shopify loyalty app with points, referrals and levels

LoyalXP is a loyalty points app for Shopify stores. It gives customers points on what they actually paid and lets them spend those points as store credit or discount codes.

> The next order starts with this one. Shopify loyalty points, store-credit rewards, referrals and levels. Customers earn on what they actually paid. Every point has a receipt.

Early access. Installs from Shopify. Early access, 14 days free, then $15 a month with every feature. Request access at https://loyalxp.com/#early-access

## How earning works

Points come from the money you actually collected, before payment fees. Discounts, gift cards and store credit never earn, so nobody earns points on points. Tax, shipping and other charges (duties, COD fees, tips) count only if you switch them on, and refunds reverse on the same basis.

Worked example (demo values, all three charges switched off by default): product 4,500 rupees, tax 500, shipping 150, other charges 50 (COD fee), 500 paid with store credit, which never earns. Points base is the product minus store credit, plus each charge you include: 4,000 rupees by default. At an example rate of 25 points per 1,000 rupees, rounded down, that is 100 points. Include tax and the base is 4,500 rupees (112 points). Add shipping and it is 4,650 (116 points). Include all three and it is 4,700 (117 points).

## Expiry

Points lapse when you say, and customers can see when. Never, on a fixed date, or months after each order. One customer, one year, each rule.

- Never: points stay until used.
- On a fixed date: everything lapses together, on a date you pick.
- Months after each purchase: each order's points run on their own clock.

## Levels and bonus offers

Regular customers earn faster. Every paid order adds XP, and XP is never spent. The level's multiplier applies to every order's base points. A refund takes back that order's points, and its XP too if you switch that on. Levels can count lifetime XP or requalify each year.

Example offers:

- Double points window: Diwali, 2x. 20 Oct to 2 Nov, orders in the window earn double.
- Big-order bonus: 5,000 rupees and over, +300 points. Any single order at or above the line.
- Spend target: 15,000 rupees this quarter, +1,000 points. Once, when the total is reached.

## Every change to a balance stays on the record

Every point movement is a line with a reason. Nobody deletes a line, us included. A fix is a new line with who made it and why.

Customers see the same history you do, lapse notes included. Your accountant gets a liability report in rupees.

> "We built LoyalXP so nobody has to guess how a loyalty program works. Every point on a customer's account says where it came from and where it went." Smaran Challapalli, Founder, LoyalXP

## When orders don't go to plan

Returns, missed points and old orders are covered.

- Refunds and cancellations: a return takes back exactly what that order earned. Already spent? The balance goes into debt and the next earn clears it.
- Order claims: checked out as a guest? Claim the order later. Verified against the order, credited once.
- Day-one backfill: credit past orders on install at a flat amount, your rates or a one-off rate, total shown first. Switching apps? Import balances from a CSV.

## Referrals that run on any Shopify plan

No Plus, no checkout extension. The invite lives on your domain.

1. Invite link: a link on your domain, showing who sent it and the reward.
2. Friend's first order: Shopify's own login creates the account. The code lands on the cart, any device.
3. Both credited: both sides are credited when the first order is paid.

## Points show up where customers already shop

Add any of these blocks from the theme editor: an account chip, a points line under the price, a cart block, a launcher and panel, a rewards page, and a join pop-up. They take your theme's colours straight away. Points can be spent as Shopify store credit if your store uses new customer accounts. Discount-code redemption works without them.

## Pricing

$15 a month for every feature.
Examples: 250 paid orders a month costs $15, 1,000 costs $30, 5,000 costs $110.

Early access: LoyalXP is not on the Shopify App Store yet. Early-access stores install it first and pay the same $15 a month after the trial.

## Questions from store owners

**How much does LoyalXP cost?** $15 a month with every feature, covering 250 paid orders a month. Each further 250 is $5 as a Shopify usage charge, up to a monthly cap you set. The first 14 days are free, and billing runs through Shopify Billing in US dollars.

**Is LoyalXP on the Shopify App Store?** Not yet. Early-access stores install it first, straight from Shopify, and pay the same $15 a month after the trial.

**How is LoyalXP different from other Shopify loyalty apps?** Points are earned on what the customer actually paid, not on the pre-discount total. Customers see the reason behind every point, including when it lapses. A refund takes back exactly what the order earned. Expiry, levels and referrals are all rules you set, and billing runs through Shopify.

**How do points turn into store credit?** Customers convert points into Shopify store credit at a rate you set. Store credit needs Shopify's new customer accounts. On classic accounts, choose discount codes instead.

**Will customers lose their points if I switch from another app?** No. Import balances from a CSV, with expiry dates if you have them, and see a test run before anything is saved. You can also credit past orders at a flat amount, your normal rates or a one-time rate, with the total shown first.

**What does setup involve?** Seven screens inside your Shopify admin, one decision each, with a preview of what customers will see. Save as you go and change any answer after launch.

**Does it work on WooCommerce or a custom store?** Not yet. Shopify comes first. The core runs behind an API so other platforms can connect later. Tell us yours in the form and we'll email you when it's supported.

## Notes

1. Store credit needs Shopify's new customer accounts. On classic accounts, customers redeem as discount codes instead.
2. The core runs behind an API, so the same program can reach other platforms later. Each program has its own currency. Rupee stores came first, so the examples on this page are in rupees.
3. Rates, orders, balances and months shown on this page are examples. You set your own rates or slabs.
4. Bonus offers are their own lines in the customer's history, come back on refund, and don't stack unless you say so.
5. A refund takes back the order's points. Taking back its XP too is a switch you can turn on.
6. Rule changes start on a date you pick and apply to existing points or only to new ones. You see who is affected before saving, and confirm first if anyone's expiry would shorten.
7. Balances are worked out from the ledger lines and can be rebuilt from them at any time.
8. Order claims are verified against the order, rate-limited, and credit each order once.
9. Referrals: one welcome reward per new member, and a refund never opens a second invite. If a refund takes the order below your minimum, both sides reverse, unless you switch that off. Self-referrals on the same email, phone or shipping address are blocked. Referrer rewards are capped per period, and large ones wait for your review.
10. Setup saves as you go. Nothing is preselected, and every answer can change after launch.
11. The storefront mockup and the setup steps are from the prototype, shown with an example store.
12. Billed in US dollars by Shopify, through Shopify Billing, only after the trial ends.
13. Extra orders are a Shopify usage charge, and you set the monthly cap. You're never billed past it.
14. A late or failed payment never changes a balance, and customers keep spending their points while the app is installed.
15. If you uninstall, store credit customers already hold stays in Shopify. Unused LoyalXP discount codes stop working, and reinstalling before Shopify's data deletion window brings every balance back.
